Former Romanian football international, who was until Monday General Manager of FC Dinamo Bucharest, was appointed on Wednesday as Sports Manager with the Romanian Football Federation (FRF) in charge with the relations with domestic and foreign teams.
Goal getter of the national team with 35 goals scored, the same as Gheorghe Hagi, 77 times international, Mutu has become member of the FRF team.
“The high experience Adrian Mutu has gathered at the highest levels in European football during his footballer career, along with the one as General Manager of FC Dinamo Bucharest, are the guarantees for success. I welcome you and I strongly believe that together we will succeed in strengthening the FRF project for the development of the Romanian football,” FRF President Razvan Burleanu said on Wednesday.
In his turn, Adrian Mutu said: “I am very glad to join the team and to have the opportunity to work together with professionals, in view of improving Romanian football I was born in. I am going through a new stage of my career and I believe I have to contribute with everything I have learned on the pitch and in the consequent activity to the national team’s success.”
