Olympus Romania, one of the largest dairy producers on the local market, announced that Athanasios Giannousis had been appointed as commercial director to run the company’s development plans in Romania. Athanasios Giannousis is replacing Ilias Pliatsikas, who will continue activity at Olympus-Tyras group in Greece.
Athanasios Giannousis has an experience of nine years in the FMCG international industry, holding previous manager positions at Olympus Greeece and Romania, as production manager and sales manager.

With a strong presence on the Romanian market, Olympus has entered a new development stage, which needs maintaining the highest standards on consumers’ experience,” said Stergios Sourlis, commercial director- international markets, Olympus-Tyras Group.
“I am proud to have been able to contribute to Olympus Romania’s positioning as one of the most important players in the dairy industry in Romania (….) I am confident that Olympus Romania will continue its expansion at local level and I wish Athanasios good luck in its new role,” said Ilias Pliatsikas.
After Ilias Pliatsikas’ leave to Greece, the general manager position is taken over by Athanasoulas Georgios, who has previously had the position of production & acquisition manager in other plants of the group in Greece.
Olympus Group has been present in Romania since 1999. During 1996-2016, the group’s total investment in Romania mounted to over EUR 100 M.
