Romanian Foreign Minister Teodor Melescanu has attended the inauguration of a Romanian language teaching school in Iordănești in Cernăuți region, Ukraine on Thursday.
“The inauguration of the Romanian language teaching school in Iordănești, Ukraine highlights the importance that Romania pays to the minority and especially to the education in the Romanian language in Ukraine“, the FM stated, according to a post on the Romanian Foreign Ministry’s social media pages.
Teodor Melescanu also said that our country will not forget those who speak Romanian, adding that Romania will support Ukraine in the education field.
“Romania will never forget the Romanian language speakers and those who are part of the Romanian ethnic group. We are doing our best to help you, especially in the most important field such as the education and school system,” the FM pointed out.
As far as the education law in Ukraine is concerned, the head of the Romanian diplomacy said that Romania “will show concern by keeping this topic on the agenda of the political and diplomatic talks until concrete solution are identified,” Melescanu twitted.
Melescanu attended the event in Ukraine next to his Ukrainian counterpart, Pavlo Klimkin, and the Romanian and the Ukrainian Education ministers, Liviu Pop and Lilia Grinevici.
The Romanian delegation has also visited the Romanian language teaching “Mihai Eminescu” high school in Carapciv, Hliboka district.
