The conference Bid Exclusion Risks in Public Procurement (with a focus on competition and data protection breaches), organized by EMEA Conferences took place at Hotel Crowne Plaza Bucharest on April 11.
Silviu-Cristian Popa, the president of CNSC (National Council for Solving Complaints), was one of the speakers at the conference. During his presentation, he shared with the audience relevant key points and facts from CNSC’s activity and answered questions from the public.
Further on, EMEA Conference invited speakers – Peter Trepte, Roger Bickerstaff and Aris Georgopoulos – UK specialists, practitioners and professors in Public Procurement, who have provided analysis and solutions on hot topics in Public Procurement, such as: bid exclusions based on poor past performance and grave professional misconduct; Effects of the new Data Protection Regulation on public procurement procedures; Competition implications with respect to bid rigging) in public procurement procedures.
EMEA conference’s intention was to allow the Romanian audience interested in the public procurement topic to interact with foreign experts in this field, sharing up-to-date analysis and solutions, both theoretical and practical, based on actual examples from European Court of Justice’s practice.
The lunch was a good opportunity for networking and sharing ideas, for both the speakers and the participants.
The conferences ended with a Q&A session with all the speakers. The audience discussed with the speakers about real life examples observed in their practice, focusing on the European legislation’s transposition in Romanian law.
