Former PM Dacian Ciolos said on Thursday that the non-governmental organization he will launch along with members of his government is considering “very seriously a new political project, a political movement or a political party.”
The former prime minister told RFI, in an interview, about the objectives of the non-governmental organization to be launched: “It is a non-governmental organization with political objectives, to the extent that politics means being concerned about city life, of what is happening in society. I will be part of this association, along with several members of the former Government at different levels – we want to continue working on certain projects we started during governance and which seem to us important to be implemented in the economic and social field, in education, health and so on.”
“We will come up with proposals, including legislative proposals, which could be supported by parliamentary parties. I remind you that this platform, initially, launched when I was prime minister, was supported by the National Liberal Party, by the Save Romania Union, which are in Parliament, with which we want an open, honest collaboration in the next period. Sure, not only with the two parties, with all parties that, based on the principles and values in this platform, are ready to work with us in order to promote these proposals. We will be open to this kind of collaboration,” Dacian Ciolos said.
Asked if he would be interested in a closer collaboration, of different nature, with the Liberal Party, former Prime Minister said: “If at some point there will be a decision in this regard, I will announce it. For now, there’s nothing decided with PNL, nor with USR. We take into account very seriously, including a new political project, a political movement or a political party. Regardless of the option that we’ll have, our goal is to be able to contribute to a credible political project or to have a credible political alternative for the future elections, however not to wait the next elections, to come up with some proposals that can be implemented by then.”
