The average gross wage grew in July by 0.5% against the previous month to RON 3,329, whereas the net wage reached RON 2,391, up by RON 11 (+0.5%), the National Statistics Institute (INS) has informed on Thursday.
The highest net average wage was registered in the IT sector – RON 6,009, the lowest in hotels and restaurants – RON 1,418. As compared to July last year, in July 2017 the net average wage was higher by 15.1%, the real earnings index being 113.5%.
As against the consumer price evolution, the real wage index was 100.2% in July 2017 against the previous month. As against October 1990, the real wage index was 180%, by 0.3 percentage points higher than the one in June 2017.
In regard to the state employees, the net average wage increased by 5.1% in public administration, in health and social assistance (+0.3%). At the opposite end, in education the net average wage fell in July by 3.5% as compared to the previous month, following the decrease of amounts for the payment of teachers by the hour during the summer holiday.
