Happy Tour sales in 2016, up by 10 pc

Happy Tour travel company, one of the largest players in the market, recorded in 2016 sales of nearly EUR 50 million, up by almost 10 percent year-on-year, a press release informs.

These good results happened due to the advance registered by the business travel segment, the domestic tourism increase and also by Disneyland taking over as tour operator.

Regarding the corporate portfolio, Happy Tour recorded last year an increase of over 10 percent compared to the end of the previous year, the new partners operating in areas such as banking, auto, agriculture.

“Happy Tour keeps its growth trend recorded in recent years, international development strategy in 2016 opening an office in Istanbul, the third after Bucharest and Sofia. Both in 2016 and this year, we focus on developing the company,” Javier Garcia del Valle, CEO Happy Tour, stated.

Happy Tour also recorded an increase of 40 percent of domestic tourism, the customers’ preferred destinations in Romania for team buildings and company party.

As regards leisure segment, there were also recorded increases for seaside, Bucovina area and spa resorts.

“In 2017 we expect a doubling of sales volume with holiday vouchers and an increase in demand for domestic holidays by 25 percent from EUR1.4 million recorded in 2016,” del Valle pointed out.

As of autumn last year, when Happy Tour has become the Romania’s exclusive tour operator of Disneyland Paris, families with children demand for such holidays increased by 150 percent, one of the best sold product in company’s offer.

The most requested destination in 2016 was Spain, followed by Romania, Greece, Turkey, Italy, Germany, the United States. Happy Tour tourists chose 4 and 5 star-hotels, for packages with with average values of EUR 800/adult in Spain, EUR 600/adult in Greece, EUR 600/adult in Turkey.

Spain continues to be most popular destination among tourists in 2017 also, the travel company registering an increase of 10 percent more reserved packages in the first months of 2017 during the Early Booking period, compared to the same period in 2016.
