Justice Minister Tudorel Toader has said he presented on Saturday, during a working session of the Venice Commission, the amendments in Romania to the laws of justice.
On his Facebook page, Toader wrote:
“Venice Commission – working session of December 9, 2017:
- I followed the invitation to present the legislative developments in Romania regarding the laws of justice.
- On the sidelines of the reunion, I had a meeting with Mr. Marin Mrcela, President of the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO).”
On Thursday and Friday, Prosecutor General Augustin Lazar requested consultations with the Venice Commission regarding the amendments to the laws of justice.
On the other hand, the Judges Forum and the Prosecutors’ Association have requested the Parliament on Friday, in a joint release, to reject the legislative package regarding the amendments to the laws of justice.
