Ludovic Orban, acquitted in the corruption file on the campaign for Bucharest City Hall

The Supreme Court has acquitted liberal Ludovic Orban in the file in which the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) prosecutors accused him of committing the offense of using influence in order to obtain undue advantages. The decision is not final.

The DNA accused Orban of using his political office when asking for EUR 50,000 from businessman Tiberiu Urdareanu for his election campaign in the race for Bucharest City Hall.

Ludovic Orban stated exclusively for Realitatea TV that, by this ruling, justice was done, however he added that the file was built in order to get him out of the race for Bucharest mayor general. He even told the prosecutors not to challenge the sentence as it would be embarrassing.
