A military truck, part of a NATO convoy, has been involved on Monday in an accident on the Arad-Nadlac highway, less than 5 km from the customs. Two soldiers have been injured and have been transported to the Timişoara hospital.
The military truck involved in the accident was part of a convoy made up of 15 US military vehicles that had left a NATO base in Romania, tvr.ro informs.
From the first information, the driver of the truck allegedly was dozing and hit the car in front of him. At the moment of impact, he got scared and suddenly pulled the steering wheel, he entered the parapets that separated the lanes on the highway, which he destroyed on a 50m section.
The driver and the passenger on the right were injured.
The truck was transporting electricity generators. After the accident, traffic was blocked for dozens of minutes. Traffic was allowed only on the emergency lane until a crane has taken the truck off the road, TVR informs.
