In the 6 month period ended on June 30 2017, Societatea Nationala Nuclearelectrica (SNN) recorded a 77-fold increase in net profit to RON 133.78 million, considering that in the first half of 2016, the company posted a net profit of RON 1.74 million. half-year report informs.
The company also registered a 5.5 percent increase in electricity produced and delivered by Cernavoda NPP, given the significantly shorter planned outage of the unit that was supposed to enter the planned outage program.
At the same time, the sales revenues increased by 20.2 percent due to both higher electricity deliver by 6.5 percent and the higher actual average prices by 12.83 percent.
The company also benefited from rising energy prices on the Romanian market this year
The weighted average sales price for energy sales (without PE) resulting in the first half of 2017 is RON 170.21/ MWh (including Tg). In the first half of 2016, the weighted average sales price for the sold energy (without PE) was RON 154.09/ MWh (including Tg).
Last year, Nuclearelectrica achieved an energy output of 10,388 GWh, slightly decreasing compared to 2015. The two units in Cernavoda provide almost 20 percent of the total electricity production of the country.
The total value of Nuclearelectrica’s investment program for 2017 is of RON 231.593 thousand (excluding the debt service payment component related to the long term borrowings).
