President Klaus Iohannis said that he is very content with the anti-corruption chief prosecutor and Prosecutor General’s activity. “President Klaus Iohannis is very content with their activity,” sources with the Presidential Administration told Digi 24.
The President’s stance comes amid controversial statement by the new minister of Justice, Tudorel Toader, who has recently said that he would soon have discussions with Laura Codruta Kovesi and Augustin Lazar on the investigation over the GEO 13 that intended to amend the criminal law, even ruling in the version of the two filing their resignation meanwhile.
However, Justice minister called back on his statements, said he hadn’t suggested their resignation, but he just evoked an institution existing in the Labour Code.
Both the Justice minister and the head of state have something to say on revoking chief prosecutors or the Prosecutor General.
