Social Democrat deputy Liviu Plesoianu announces he will run for the presidential elections in 2019, regardless of the party’s decision in this respect. Plesoianu also says that PSD chairman Liviu Dragnea’s statements that it would be a mistake to announce the party’s presidential candidate, are wrong, as this was the way that brought to prime ministers of the System at the helm of the government.
“I will run for the presidential elections in 2019. When PSD decides to hold that congress, the party members will decide as naturally. But regardless of that decision, I will still run for Presidency in 2019 (…) dear colleagues, I will continue not to meet any internal group in 2018 as well. I am not interested at all in getting a mercantile support. I am not interested at all in being part of some decisions born behind some curtain, any curtain,” Plesoianu posted on Facebook on Thursday.
He slammed the party’s chair Liviu Dragnea, PM Mihai Tudose and his party fellows who are attending various meetings, reiterating his opposition for the “parallel state”, calling it “the Hydra that took Romania hostage for over a decade”.
“If PSD, as a whole, will strike a chord with me, we’ll go together. If not, I will go my own way and I shall not stop…”, Plesoianu said.
He accused Liviu Dragnea that he is applying the same recipe with the presidential candidate when it was about naming the premier, saying that both Mihai Tudose and ex-PM Sorin Grindeanu are the representatives of the system.
“The Social Democrat with an intelligence PhD degree (e.n. Mihai Tudose), signed by Coldea and Maior (the former deputy head and the former head of the Romanian Intelligence Service) has kicked out of the Government two lady ministers, PSD colleagues, on the ground they have legal problems (e.n. Sevil Shhaideh and Rovana Plumb), in other words, the PSD premier has exactly taken over Iohannis’s favorite propaganda word,” Plesoianu said.
