Romania switches to Daylight Saving Time this weekend

Romanians will switch to the summer time Saturday overnight (March 25 to March 26), thus 3 a.m. will turn to 4 a.m.

Every year, Romania turn their clocks forward 1 hour from 3 a.m. to 4 a.m. So, the day of March 26 will have 23 hours instead of 24 hours

Sunrise and sunset will be about 1 hour later on 26 mar 2017 than the day before. There will be more light in the evening.

The day is also known as Daylight Saving Time or Spring Forward.

The Daylight Saving Time will end on October 29, 2017.

Summer Time in Europe is the arrangement by which local time is advanced by one hour in spring and moved back in autumn to make the most of seasonal daylight, also called daylight saving time.

This is done in all of the countries of Europe except Iceland, Belarus and Russia. Summer Time was first introduced in some countries during the World War I, then largely abandoned with some exceptions, mostly during World War II, until the 1960s and ‘70s when the energy crisis prompted a wide scale re-introduction. The practice has been fully coordinated across the continent since 1996.
