The City Hall in Cluj-Napoca is the first one in Romania that issues operating permits for companies online, starting Thursday. Almost 10,000 companies will benefit of the new decision.
Cluj mayor Emil Boc said that the new online procedure will cut the waiting time for the release of the companies’ operating permits from 70 days to 25 days.
“The commercial agents in Cluj-Napoca will be able to ask for the online release of their companies’ operating permits on edirect.e-guvernare.ro platform. We are the first city hall in Romania to introduce this new modern type to release these permits. The online procedure will shorten the waiting time for the commercial agents from 70 days to 25 days, and thus will also cut the expensive red tape procedure. The inhabitants of Cluj Napoca will also be able to pay online the taxes for the operating permits on the city hall’s website,” mayor Boc stated.
There are about 9,600 commercial agents registered in Cluj-Napoca.
The mayor added that the new measure is a form of respect for the Cluj citizens’s time and money and a way to use technology to the people’s advantage.
