U.S. Embassy in Bucharest congratulates Romania’s new Gov’t, Parliament, urges them to maintain anti-corruption fight

The Embassy of the United States of America congratulated the new Government and Parliament of Romania, informs a press release by the U.S. Embassy in Bucharest on Wednesday.

We look forward to working with Prime Minister Grindeanu and his cabinet to further develop our Strategic Partnership, which aims to increase our shared security, enhance our nations’ mutual prosperity, and strengthen democratic institutions. Our partnership is also based on a commitment to good governance and strengthening the rule of law.

The United States also strongly supports the efforts of President Iohannis and judicial and law enforcement authorities on this front.  We urge all executive, legislative, and judicial branch stakeholders in Romania to work together to maintain the country’s fight against corruption and to ensure the credibility of Romania’s  leadership and institutions,” reads the release.
