Romanian tennis player Horia Tecau and Jean-Julien Rojer (Netherlands) have been eliminated on Thursday in the quarter-finals of the ATP tournament in Sydney with prizes of USD 437,380, after being defeated by Wesley Koolhof/Matwe Middelkoop (Netherlands) 7-6 (4), 2-6, 11-9.
In the previous round Tecau/Rojer won the match against Australians Matt Reid/Jordan Thompson 2-6, 6-4, 10-5 in 63 minutes. The pair will collect 45 ATP points and a cheque for USD 3,860.
The pair made up by Romanian tennis player Florin Mergea and Dominic Inglot (UK) has also been defeated in the quarter-final round of the ATP tournament in Auckland with prizes of USD 450,110 after being defeated by Jonathan Erlich (Israel)/Scott Lipsky (US) 6-3, 7-6 (6). In the previous round Mergea/Inglot defeated Jose Statham/Finn Tearney (New Zeeland) 7-5, 7-5 in one hour and 21 minutes.
The pair will collect a cheque for USD 3,970 and 45 ATP points. Mergea and Iglot played the last year’s final in Auckland.
