FM Meleşcanu: If President Iohannis doesn’t accept embassy relocation to Jerusalem, CCR might be notified

Romanian Foreign Minister Teodor Melescanu has state on Wednesday that, if President Klaus Iohannis doesn’t accept the Government’s analysis on the effects of relocating Romania’s Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, issues related to an inter institutional conflict might come up again”.
“In my opinion, I would like to have this evaluation and analysis as soon as possible and to present more alternatives, such as the relocation, or other alternatives that might come up now. Of course, the political decision makers will decide. If the decisions are different, we might have issues related to an inter-institutional conflict again, we might go to the Constitutional Court and so on. We’ll take all mechanisms,” Melescanu said, when asked what it will happen if President Iohanis doesn’t accept the Gov’t analysis on the effects of relocating Romania’s embassy to Jerusalem.
FM Melescanu was heard in the Chambers’ foreign policy committee on Wednesday.
