Air Malta starts operating weekly flight to Bucharest

Romania is back in the Air Malta network, starting by operating a weekly (Thursday) flight to Bucharest. Scheduled flights to Bucharest will start as from May 17, 2018 with the sale of seats available as of today, Malta Independent informs.

These new scheduled flights, which for years have been operated by Air Malta as a charter service, have now been upgraded to a scheduled one. Go-Light hand luggage one-way fares start from EUR 39.

“Our new service to the capital of Romania is another achievement in connecting the Maltese Islands to major cities. We have been operating charter services to Bucharest for years together with our travel partners and we believe that the market is now mature enough for scheduled services. The introduction of this new service follows our current growth strategy that will enable us to tap into new markets together with our travel partners. We are working hard to make this and all the other new routes a success,” Paul Sies Air Malta’s Chief Commercial Officer stated.

According to Air Malta’s Chairman, Charles Mangion, this new route is yet another step forward in the strategy to connect Malta with the rest of Europe and truly become the ‘Airline of the Mediterranean’.

The flight schedule to Bucharest Otopeni airport will operate as follows:

Thursday

KM4526 departure Malta 12:45 – arrival Bucharest 15:55

KM4527 departure Bucharest 16:45 – arrival Malta 17:55
