Airbus to equip IGSU with 4,000 portable radio stations of EUR 3.5 M

TelSec Bucharest, Airbus Defance and Space Romania, Radiocommunication Service Center and Ageximco want to provide 4,000 TETRA portable radio stations for communications, following a contract of RON 16 million, no VAT, equivalent to EUR 3.5 million, for a period of 4 years to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), profit.ro informs.

Funding of the contract will be made with European non-reimbursable funds and from the state budget.

IGSU’s latest acquisition with TETRA portable radio stations was in August 2015 – 10,000 units following a contract of RON 49.92 million, no VAT.

TErrestrial Trunked RAdio (TETRA) is the modern digital private mobile radio (PMR) and public access mobile radio (PAMR) technology for police, ambulance, fire, transport and security services. It is use by utilities, the military, public access, fleet management, closed user groups, factory site services, mining, etc. In short, TETRA is digital radio.

TETRA offers fast call set-up time, group communication support, direct mode operation between radios, packet data and circuit data transfer services, frequency economy and security features.
