23 of Economy Ministry’s subordinate companies to have private management this year

The Ministry of Economy will implement this year the principles of corporate governance, involving especially the selection and appointment of professional private management at 23 companies under its subordination, of which 13 will have new managers as of June, a press release informs on Monday.

Currently, the Ministry of Economy has 56 companies in subordination or coordination.

Thus, private management will be introduced in the first half of this year at Plafar, National Salt Company (Salrom), the National Mineral Waters Company (SNAM), Cuprumin, May 2 Shipyard, CNCIR SA, Investment Company for Tourism, Iprochim, ICEM, Neptun Olimp, IOR, Conversmin and Smart SA (subsidiary of Transelectrica).

In H2 of 2016, the Ministry of Economy will appoint private managers at Baita, Romarm Cugir Weapons Factory, Arsenal Resita, Pirochim Victoria, Cugir Mechanical Factory Mangalia Shipyard, IAR, Romaero and Avioane Craiova.

According to the ministry, only Transelectrica, Teletrans (subsidiary of Transelectrica) and Transgaz have currently selected and appointed professional management based on the Emergency Ordinance 109/2011.
