State analyzed over 100 companies in its portfolio and 25 of them were selected to enter the first stage of Emergency Ordinance 109 implementation program on corporate governance in SOEs (state-owned enterprise).
“Corporate governance is a major concern of the current government. 114 state companies have been analyzed so far, of which 56 of the Ministry of Economy portfolio. (…),” State Secretary at the Ministry of Economy Sorana Baciu said on Thursday during a press conference.
Managers’ selection starts on March 1, initially for four companies in the Ministry of Economy, followed by further nine, so that to have 13 companies in the H1.
The Secretary of State also said that in the Defense Ministry’s companies case there will be implemented the principles of professional management, but it will not go on the selection of private managers.
