KMG International appointed Romanian-born Catalin Dumitru (photo) as Senior Vice President for Operational Activities, thus replacing Azamat Zhangulov who was promoted as Senior Vice-President for Sales and Marketing within KazMunayGas, the national oil & gas company of Kazakhstan, the sole shareholder of KMG International, a press release informs on Thursday.
At the same time, Alexey Golovin will take Dumitru’s place as Vice President for Corporate Development and Strategy of the Group, who will take over the responsibilities of corporate development and strategy of the Group, coordinating the strategic development, M&A projects, public relations and relations with governmental authorities and the sole shareholder.
Alexey Golovin, who had previously been the Managing Director for Strategy, held in the past years different positions within the KMG International Group, including those of Managing Director Internal Communication and Corporate Development and Group Corporate Marketing and Communication Director.
Catalin Dumitru is assuming the role of Senior Vice President of KMG International, continuing to be responsible for the entire operational chain of the Group. From his new position, Catalin Dumitru will be responsible for implementing the long term operational strategy of KMG International.
With over 20 years of professional experience, he joined the Group in 2002, as Chief Financial Officer for two of the Group’s companies.
On account of his managerial skills, Dumitru was successfully appointed as CEO of Dyneff Group in 2008, where he coordinated the storage, trading and distribution of oil products for private and public customers’ activities of KMG International in Western Europe.
With over 7,000 employees, KMG International carries out operations in 11 main markets throughout Europe and Central Asia, being active primarily in trading, refining and petrochemicals, retail and marketing, with additional operations in exploration and production and other oil industry services such as drilling, EPCM and transportation.
