AFI Europe has bought a 40,000-sqm land uptown Brasov where it intends to build a commercial center with 45,000-sqm area for rent which would be the third in size on local level. The group also has in view a project of 11,000 sqm to shelter offices. Both the mall and the offices center will be opened in October 2017.
Brasov is the main travel destination in Romania, luring about 1.5 million tourists on an annual basis, besides, the city has a high number of inhabitants and a purchase power above the average. All these next to the perfect location in the city’s center convinced us to enter the retail market in Brasov, David Hay, CEO AFI Europe Romania told a press release.
The land is located in the Civic Center, on the former Hidromecanica platform, on the main boulevard which links the old center to all the city’s districts and to the exit to Bucharest.
The mall has three floors, with the third one hosting the restaurants and entertainment area, including a cinema.
Visitors will also be able to see the Carpathians from a large sized garden, which is also designed to host various events and activities for families and tourists.
This is the third commercial center of the real estate developer in Romania, after AFI Palace Cotroceni in Bucharest and AFI Palace Ploiesti.
The company plans to build on the same ground an office-A class building, designed as “a green construction”. AFI Park will comprise five office buildings, with a total 70,000 sqm area for rent, with the last two of them being finalized early next year.
The company also intends to develop two new projects of this kind in Arad on a 80,000-sqm land and in Bucurestii Noi, Bucharest, on a 148,000-sqm ground.
