Arizona Opens Economic Representation in Bucharest, First Office of a U.S. State in Central and Eastern Europe

The U.S. state of Arizona will open its economic representation in Bucharest, the first office of its kind for an American state in Central and Eastern Europe.

The economic representation will be headquartered in District 6 in Bucharest.

The decision from the U.S. side follows discussions and negotiations that began in August in London with representatives from the state of Arizona, members of the International Trade Commission, continued in Bucharest, and concluded recently in Phoenix.

Arizona is renowned for leading companies in the IT, automotive, pharmaceutical industries, as well as in national security-related sectors such as semiconductors and batteries crucial for the energy transition.

With a population of just 7 million, Arizona attracted $60 billion in chip manufacturing last year.
