Austria’s Dunapack Packaging expands its business in Romania with a new factory

Dunapack Rambox, the local subsidiary of the Austria- based Dunapack Packaging Group, signed an agreement for the purchase of 11.5 ha-plot for the construction of a greenfield corrugated packaging plant in Bolintin, near Bucharest, a press release informs.

The amount of the investment has not been disclosed.

Dunapack also owns a factory in Sfantu Gheorghe, Covasna County, and is the fourth largest company in the industry, depending on the turnover in 2016.

The new unit will cover 22,000 square meters will be equipped with high-speed corrugated cardboard equipment and with printing and packaging equipment. Annual production capacity is estimated at 180 million sqm per year.

”The new greenfield factory near Bucharest is a great opportunity to strengthen Dunapack Rambox’s strategic position on the Romanian market. With two factories in the region, we are able to provide our customers with high-quality packaging combined with optimal logistics organization,” Alexander Enzenberg, Managing Director Dunapack Packaging stated.

The opening date of the new plant has not yet been established, but the company will need 200 employees for the plant in Bolintin, sources said.

Dunapack Rambox posted last year a turnover of over EUR 28 million and a net profit of almost EUR 1.2 million.
