Bonapp.eco Food Waste App Seeks Fresh Funding for Expansion

The Romanian startup bonapp.eco, creator of a mobile marketplace app combating food waste, plans to secure a new funding round in Q2 2024 for expansion across Romania and Europe. Since its November 2021 inception, the company has already attracted a 1.4 million euro pre-seed investment.

The funds will fuel the app’s expansion into cities within Romania and neighboring countries such as Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria, Moldova, and Greece.

The company, currently operating in Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca, aims to extend its reach to cities like Iași, Timișoara, and Brașov.

Two months after its January 2022 launch, bonapp.eco received an 800,000 euro pre-seed investment from Up, a salary benefits company, and investment funds Roca X, Early Game Ventures, and Impact Ventures.

Founded by serial entrepreneur Grégoire Vigroux, technology consultant Diego Roy de Lachaise, and food tech entrepreneur Luka Zivkovic, the company offers users the opportunity to purchase near-expiry foods at discounts of up to 80% through its app, launched with a 100,000 euro investment.
