Bosch, a global leader in the provision of technologies and services, announced on Tuesday that it is starting the construction of a new office building within the Engineering Center in Cluj, an investment that mounts to 21 million euros.
“Bosch, a global leader in the provision of technologies and services, has officially announced the opening of the construction site for the construction of a new office building within the Engineering Center in Cluj. Representatives of local authorities participated in the event on July 13, 2021, along with the company’s management. The construction works started in March 2021 and will be completed in 2023, the building will become operational at the beginning of 2024. The total investment planned for this project is approximately 21 million euros “, the group states.
The new building, which will be connected to the existing headquarters by two walkways, will cover a built area of about 10,000 square meters and ten floors, with an underground car park.
“By investing in areas of importance for the future, such as sustainable mobility – automated, electric and connected -, the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence, Bosch continues to further expand its leadership in innovation,” said Mihai Boldijar, CEO of Robert Bosch SRL and the representative of the Bosch Group in Romania.
The two office buildings of the center in Cluj can accommodate a total of over 1,400 employees, operating within a hybrid working model.
The first building of the center was inaugurated in February 2020 and has a built area of about 17,000 square meters. The next office building of Bosch Engineering Centre was commissioned in July 2020.
Bosch has developed in Cluj, since 2013, long-term projects with local universities. Currently, the company has three master’s programs and four university courses developed together with the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca and the “Babeş-Bolyai” University. In this regard, the center in Cluj provides over 50 scholarships to talented students on an annual basis.
