Bramac Roof Systems, world leader in complete systems for pitched and flat roofs, has changed its name to BMI Romania Covering Systems. This change reflects company’s membership in BMI Group, the largest manufacturer of flat and pitched roofing and waterproofing solutions throughout Europe, with a significant presence in parts of Asia and Africa.
“This change of the company name will consolidate BMI Romania’s position and brands on the Romanian roofing market and not only. It is a great accomplishment for us, that leads to the natural development of the company. In the new business strategy we have also focused on investments in digitalizaton, following nowadays trends in the market. We have adapted on the go and we have created online platforms that would come to the aid of our customers”, declared Mircea Dumitru, Country Managing Director BMI Romania.
The year 2021 has been a year of transformation and evolution for BMI Romania. Considering the increased demand for solutions that offer energetic independence, the photovoltaic (PV), BMI Romania has established a department that offers consulting to anyone interested in the photovoltaic and solar thermal modules.
Likewise, considering this year’s increasing consumer interest in technological solutions, a trend that has been generated by the pandemic, the company has invested in digitalization. The first new and ambitious digital project is the mobile application BMI Bramac. This was launched in May 2021 and, by this means, BMI Romania has managed to offer a new digital experience to end customers. Traveling „in the roofing realm” has been transformed in a novel visual experience. The application allows a 3D visualization of BMI Bramac products and AR technology gives the user a glimpse on how the roof of his house would look like with the tiles in Bramac portfolio.
Another important digital project, also developed over the pandemic period, is the online platform academiabmi.ro, designed especially for architects, constructors, developers. As a leader in roofing industry, BMI Romania has changed the model in which specialist access product information. This new platform offers complete roofing solutions, that put together technology and high quality products to satisfy even the most demanding customer.
How did the company react to Covid-19 crisis
The years 2020-2021 have been a challenging period for BMI Romania, too, starting from lack of raw materials and ending with unexpected price fluctuations. All these have impacted the construction market in general. The supply chains with raw materials have also been impacted and delays have been registered. Also, an aspect difficult to ignore is the unexpected increase in prices of raw materials and fuel.
The company objective was that of promptly responding to market demands and also keeping prices at a competitive level. Together with its partner (there are over 200 national distributors in Romania) BMI Romania attempted to be present on the market and respond to customer needs.
“From the beginning of the year, all the market signs and registered results are a proof that industry is on a growing trend, with a high potential to compensate the losses caused by the pandemic. In the first month of 2021 we were rather expectant and prudent. We had no idea of the new restrictions to be in place for the limitation of the virus spread and we had no idea what would be the labor conditions in the near future. The second and third quarter are full of optimism and a growing buying appetite. We envision the same trend for the end of the year 2021”, added Mircea Dumitru, Country Managing Director BMI Romania.
