Swedish company Ericsson, one of the largest suppliers of equipment, software & services for the communications operators, will increase its number of employees from the global service center in Bucharest with at least 30 – 40 per cent from approximately 1.900 currently, stated Liam Coffey, Director of Ericsson Romania’s Global Service Center (GSC), in a meeting with the media.
“Currently the center in Romania provides services to 34 communications networks in Europe, Africa, Middle East and North America, which have 71 million customers,” said Coffey, as quoted by ZF.
According to him, the number of company’s customers in Bucharest has doubled during the past two years, which drew an increase in the number of employees. Romanian engineers analyze the data received live from the IT systems of the 34 operators and intervene to remedy or prevent problems.
