Miele Romania reports turnover above expectations in 2018, vows new showrooms in 2019

Germany’s Miele, leading manufacturer of premium household appliances worldwide, has reported a 35% growth in 2018, ending the previous year with a turnover above expectations of about EUR 8.5 million.

According to a company’s press release, Miele customers in Romania became more and more active on the premium segment.

We notice a change in the customers’ behaviour from one year to another, as they are heading more and more to the premium equipment, whose prices are higher, but which offer added value due to the quality of the integrated technologies and of the materials,” said Loredana Butnaru, manager Miele Romania.

Vacuum cleaners remain the most sold Miele products, with 7,600 items sold in 2018, followed by washing machines and dryers- around 4,000 items. Romanians also bought over 650 espresso machines last year, 50% more than in 2017.

New showrooms in the pipeline

After the inauguration of the 4th showroom in Romania, based in Timisoara following a EUR 150,000 investment, Miele plans to open more new own locations. The first to be opened in 2019 will be in Oradea.

Miele has a total of 70 selling points countrywide: showrooms, exclusive stores, online stores and partner stores.
