Competition Council Evaluates Romcim’s Purchase of Concrete Plants

The Romanian Competition Council is analyzing the transaction by which Romcim S.A. intends to acquire two Liebherr-type concrete production units owned by BCC Agregate Betoane S.R.L., located in Iași County.

Romcim S.A., part of the CRH Group, operates in the production of cement, aggregates, concrete, and prefabricated concrete elements. The company owns and operates two cement plants, a grinding station, and a network of cement terminals, quarries, gravel pits, aggregate depots, concrete stations, and prefabricated concrete element production facilities.

BCC Agregate Betoane S.R.L. specializes in the production of concrete, screeds, and mortars.

According to the provisions of the Competition Law (No. 21/1996), this transaction requires authorization from the Competition Council. The Council will evaluate the transaction to determine its compatibility with a normal competitive environment and will issue a decision within the legal deadlines.
