The Competition Council is analyzing the transaction through which A-AG Holdco Ltd intends to take over Intersystems Holding Inc. and companies related to the grain and protein business of AGCO Corporation.
A-AG Holdco Ltd, UK, is a newly incorporated investment vehicle controlled by American Industrial Partners (AIP). AIP is a consultant that holds investments in various portfolio companies with activities in several regions, including the EU. In Romania, AIP makes sales through portfolio companies, some of which have subsidiaries/branches registered in the country.
Intersystems, USA, is a manufacturer of equipment solutions for grain and seed storage, processing and handling, as well as systems for protein production.
AGCO is a US-based global manufacturer and distributor of agricultural equipment and related software solutions.
“In accordance with the provisions of the Competition Law no. 21/1996, this operation must be authorized by the Competition Council. The competition authority will evaluate this transaction in order to establish its compatibility with a normal competitive environment and will issue a decision within the terms provided by law,” the relevant authority said in a press release.
