The Competition Council is analyzing the transaction through which Dona Logistica S.A. intends to take over the VET Division from Vetro Solutions S.A.
Dona Logistica S.A., part of the Dona group of companies, is a wholesale distributor of pharmaceutical products for human use to hospitals and pharmacies and is a retail distributor of pharmaceutical products for human use, through Dona pharmacies.
Vetro Solutions S.A. is an importer and distributor of medicines and services for veterinary practices, clinics, pharmacies, pet-shops and farms. Within Vetro Solutions S.A. operates the VET Division, specialized in the wholesale distribution of veterinary products intended for veterinary offices, clinics and pharmacies, as well as pet-shops.
“In accordance with the provisions of the Competition Law (no. 21/1996), this transaction must be authorized by the Competition Council, which will assess it in order to establish its compatibility with a normal competitive environment and will issue a decision within the terms provided by law,” says the Competition Council.
