Continental Group, the largest private employer in Romania

 

The local divisions of the German automotive Continental Group have reached a cumulated workforce of 19,700 employees, a press release informs, which makes it the largest private employer in Romania. Last year the company recruited another 1,500 people.

”Continental is present in Romania with all five divisions. A wide range of cars are electronically equipped, tires and ContiTech products, such as transmission belts and ventilation and air conditioning pipes, produced in Romania. We focus on the most relevant technological areas in the automotive sector, including rubber materials for tires, electrification, connectivity and automatic and autonomous driving. More than 5,700 engineers and IT specialists work in our research and development centers,” Christian von Albrichsfeld, Continental’s Country Head in Romania, stated.

German holding has made investments of over EUR 175 million in 2017 in its locations in Romania. The company has invested in infrastructure, equipment and state-of-the-art technology for its R & D centers as well as for the manufacturing facilities.

Continental produces more than 150 million units for the automotive industry annually in its factories in Romania.

”In 2018, we plan to grow the team with over 1,000 people in jobs like software and IT & C, electrical and mechanical engineering, manufacturing operators,” Anica Stoica, HR Manager Continental Romania said.
