Continental Timisoara, part of Continental Corporation – one of the top automotive suppliers worldwide, is providing UHP (Ultra High Performance) car tires for the British premium car maker Jaguar.
The tires produced at the factory in western Romania will take the road to U.K. and will equip the XE model.
“The new partnership is extremely important for the development of our business in Romania, confirming the quality of products manufactured here,” Klaus Ohlwein, General Manager Passenger Tire Plant, Continental Timisoara, said in a press release.
“We have a tradition of 15 years in producing tires, allowing us to supply our tires models manufactured in Timisoara to Jaguar. In the future, we will continue to improve the production process, so we can expand our tires range, as well as to continue and strengthen the partnership with this premium brand,” Ohlwein added.
Jaguar will use ContiEcoContact 5J and ContiPremiumContact 5J tires models, both of 17 inches. These tires provide excellent performance in hot season, wet or dry weather as well as an optimum performance in terms of rolling resistance.
Within this partnership, Continental Anvelope Timisoara will supply 15,000 tires of ContiPremiumContact 5 and ContiEcoContact 5 models starting this year, after the Jaguar pilots have tested them on MIRA Autodrome in England. The tires are designed to Jaguar cars for European and global markets.
