The Dacia plant in Mioveni manufactured 292,790 vehicles in the first 11 months of the year, of which the largest share is the Duster model, with 187,488 units, Automotive Manufacturers and Importers Association (APIA) data reveal.
Moreover, the company produced 39,575 Dacia Sandero, 34,310 units of Logan MCV and 31,417 units of Logan.
To make room for the stock needs of Dacia dealers in Europe, Mioveni plant started the production and quickly lowered the volumes for the other three models that are still manufactured in Arges County. Thus, Dacia Duster has climbed to nearly 80 percent of the total production, a level that the Romanian SUV has never had. At the opposite end, Logan covers only 5.6 percent of production, the demand for this model is waning in Europe.
Factory’s output is completed by 42,112 SKDs (semi-knocked-down) kits delivered to Algeria.
According to APIA, Dacia’s Mioveni manufactured 300,288 cars in the same period last year, down by 4.5 percent, the highest volumes being recorded by the Dacia Duster – 178,574 units, up by 14.2 percent compared to the first 11 months of 2015.
