Dacia Mioveni plant output, down by 4 pc in H1 2017. Duster, the only model on growth

The production of the Dacia plant in Mioveni reached 170,430 vehicles in the first six months of this year, according to the data presented on Friday by Romania’s Association of Automotive Manufacturers (ACAROM).

Thus, the number of cars assembled by Dacia dropped by 4.3 percent compared to the same period last year (178,017 units in 2016). To this, 24,933 semi-assembled coach bodies are added, destined for Algeria.

Duster is the only model that grew during the analyzed period – 106,038 units, up 2.4 percent from the 103,473 units registered in the first half of 2016.

According to ACAROM data, Sandero output dropped 18 percent from 31,122 units to 25,435 units. At the same time, the Mioveni plant has assembled 22,488 Logan MCVs, similar to the first half of last year, and 16,469 Logan cars, down 21 percent from 20,862 units.

In the first five months of this year, Romania recorded the second largest increase of new car registrations in the European Union, 23.3 percent, to 36,978 units, four times higher than in the EU, of 5.3 percent, while Dacia’s deliveries went up 10.6 percent to 192,352 units at the EU level, giving the Romanian brand a share of 2.9 percent.
