Car manufacturer Dacia sold in 2017, more than 655,000 vehicles, by 12.2% more than in the previous year, the largest market being France with 120,000 units.
In Romania, Dacia remained market leader with a market share of almost 29% with 43,262 vehicles sold, up by 11.3% against 2016, a company release informs.
According to the source, 47% of the local sales were made in the scrap cars programme. Overall, Logan sedan has remained the most popular model sold in Romania with more than 16,200 units and 40% of the Dacia sales.
Logan MCV was the most sold break model (3,200 units) and Sandero is leading the B-hatch segment with more than 8,400 units sold, second in the rankings by model.
The first generation of Duster was sold, in 2017, in 8.300 units, whereas Lodgy is leader in the MPV segment with 950 units sold, of which 40% were Stepway version.
3,371 units of Dokker and Dokker VAN were sold, the best level since the launch in 2012.
On the foreign markets, Dacia sold 611,973 units in 2017, by 12% more than in 2016. In this context, Europe ranks first with more than 460,000 vehicles.
France is the first foreign market – 120,000 units, in the overall standings of sales Dacia ranks 5th, after Volkswagen.
Germany is the second market – 65,000 vehicles, Italy is third – more than 56,000 units. In the UK, eighth in terms of foreign markets, Dacia sold last year 25,211 units.
