Car manufacturer Dacia is ranked 60th most valuable auto brand in the world, after taking the title of most valuable Romanian brand in the Brand Finance Romania 50 league table last year.
Dacia has been going from strength to strength, reporting steady growth in its brand value, from USD 858 million in 2012 to USD 1.5 billion in 2018.
“It is evident that after setting a new sales record in 2017, the budget car manufacturer is being fueled by a high demand for cheap but reliable cars. Dacia is well-loved not only in its home country but has become incredibly popular in French, British, and Polish markets,” Mihai Bogdan, Managing Director, Brand Finance Romania commented.
Mercedes-Benz overtakes Toyota as world’s most valuable auto brand Mercedes-Benz has overtaken Toyota and BMW to claim pole position as the world’s most valuable automobile brand, following 24 percent year-on-year growth to USD 43.9 billion, according to the latest Brand Finance report.
Slipping to second was Toyota (down 6 percent to USD 43.7 billion), just ahead of third-ranked BMW (up 6 percent to USD 41.8 billion).
Electric vehicle innovator, Tesla (up 106 percent to USD 5.7 billion), has recorded extremely strong brand value growth over the last year, rising from 30th to 19th place amongst automobile brands globally.
At the same time, Aston Martin’s brand value grew with remarkable speed (up 268 percent to USD 3.6 billion) as it took the chequered flag for the fastest-growing brand in the automobile sector. Aston Martin had a very positive year, with its first profit for a decade, boosted by the Brexit-related devaluation of the British Pound.
