Danone Romania registered last year revenues of over RON 484 million, up by 6 percent compared to the previous year, a press release informs on Tuesday.
“Danone Romania had a good year in 2015, a year in which we reconfirmed our top position on yogurt segment, which is our main business. The positive evolution came following the redefinition of strategy and focusing on the yogurt from active health, pampering and for children ranges, yogurts with extra value for consumers,” Adrian Pascu, General Manager Danone România, Bulgaria, Greece, R.of Moldova and Adriatic countries.
A significant contribution to the business evolution in 2015 had also the extension of the production for other markets from Europe, the Danone factory from Bucharest already functioning as a regional center. For example, Activia products made in Romania reached last year on other 12 European markets.
According to Pascu, the facility in Bucharest uses mostly milk from the partner farmers from Romania, processing around 50 million liters of milk annually.
Danone Romania is a market leader on the yogurts segment. The company has a portfolio of dozens of varieties of products, made mostly in the factory in Bucharest with fresh milk collected from Romanian farmers.
