Interest in second-hand office furniture is growing in Romania due to inflation and the desire to protect the environment. Thus, the demand for second-hand office furniture increased by approximately 15% between January and June 2023 compared to the same period last year, with most purchases in the B2B segment being made by companies in the medical, IT, agriculture, real- estate, and automotive, according to the data of one of the main manufacturers of office furniture and importers of second-hand office furniture in the country.
According to this source, the most purchased pieces of second-hand furniture are desks, chairs, wardrobes and roll boxes. Most requests, 87%, are generated by the B2B segment for partial or complete furnishing of premises, generally SMEs in the medical-pharma, distribution, automotive, agriculture or IT fields, which have sustainability objectives.
Budgets for the furnishing of company premises vary between 7,500 euros and 10,000 euros, and the largest purchases as a budget per company are allocated in Cluj.
