Digi Mobil offers full 4G coverage in subway tunnels

Telecom service provider Digi Mobil, part of RCS & RDS, has expanded the 4G coverage in the subway tunnels. According to a press release, the 4G coverage expansion at metro was achieved by doubling the amount of spectrum used in the 1 – 2100 MHz band, allowing internet access at download speeds of up to 75 Mbps.

”Thus, Digi Mobil users will have an enhanced 4G network experience throughout the entire underground journey, superior to that offered by 3G network, which already covers both the tunnel system and the subway stations,” the release reads.

At national level, RCS & RDS continues to expand the mobile network, both through new territory coverage and capacity expansions in urban areas, to improve the mobile internet usage experience.

Digi Mobil 3G coverage reached over 99 percent of the population this summer, and 4G has reached over 51 percent of the population.

The telecom service provider shows that 302,306 numbers were ported in Digi Mobil network in January-August 2017 period, up by 16 percent compared to the same period last year.

Thus, the total number of customers who chose for porting the number in the Digi Mobil network reached 1.3 million at end-August 2017.
