According to him, the total revenues of the eMAG Group, which includes eMAG, Fashion Days, PC Garage and Conversion Marketing, amounted to RON 3.12 billion.
At the same time, the investments reached EUR 50 million last year, of which EUR 24 million were for the development of eMAG technology and EUR 23 million – for international expansion. EUR 1 million was invested in logistics development and EUR 2 million in employee development
“eMAG has become a destination for both customers and any trader, as well for talented people. We act in a global marketplace and we’re connected to global trends where the rule of the game is to always innovate to be relevant,” Staciu stated.
For the current year, Dante International, the company operating eMAG, has budgeted investments of over EUR 50 million, the expansion abroad focusing especially on Poland.
This year, eMAG will reach about 2 million products by diversifying some very dynamic categories that attract more and more online customers, such as Home & Deco, Auto, Bricolage, Baby Articles and Toys, Sport and Fashion.
“eCommerce is still at the beginning in Romania, with significant growth potential every year, and eMAG Marketplace is the biggest opportunity for any trader who wants to grow. For 2017, we aim to reach over 7,000 sellers that will have access to eMAG’s delivery infrastructure through delivery points and showrooms. From these services will also benefit the small Romanian producers registered in the ‘Deschide Romania’ program,” Iulian Stanciu explained.
The plans for this summer sound great, eMAG bringing a credit card, in partnership with the largest card issuer in Romania, new showrooms and new services for its clients.
According to Tudor Manea, senior vice president eMAG for Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary, the company is preparing a service that will allow customers to choose the time interval when they want their order to be delivered. The service will be launched in Bucharest, refering, first, to eMAG products.
Currently, the online store reached 3,822 employees, of which 650, or 17 percent, are working on developing technology platforms.
