The National Bank of Romania (BNR) has announced on Monday a reference exchange rate of RON 4.6228 per EUR, down by 0.16% against last Friday (RON 4.6303 per EUR).
It is the highest level of the national currency against the European currency since December 19, 2017 when is peaked to RON 4.6210 per EUR.
The US currency has appreciated, thus the exchange rate is RON 3.9370 per USD, up from RON 3.9308 on Friday.
The Swiss Franc has also appreciated to RON 3.9375 per CHF, up from RON 3.9298 on Friday.
The Sterling Pound has depreciated from RON 5.2996 per GBP last Friday to RON 5.2766 per GBP on Monday.
According to BNR, the price of gold is up to RON 162.6582 per gram, higher than last Friday when it was of RON 162.5961.
The BNR Board announced on May 7 the increase of the monetary policy interest rate from 2.25% to 2.50%.
