BNR Governor Mugur Isărescu’s Daughter Runs for Fondul Proprietatea Board

Lăcrămioara Isărescu, daughter of BNR Governor Mugur Isărescu, was proposed for a seat in the Fondul Proprietatea (FP) Representatives Committee by BT Maxim, an investment fund managed by BT Asset Management – the investment fund division of Banca Transilvania.

The central bank governor’s daughter and five other candidates are competing for the two vacant seats on the FP Council, an entity that oversees the activity of Fondul Proprietatea managers, i.e. the Americans from Franklin Templeton. Two vacant seats remained in the FP board after the expiration of the mandate of Nicolas Paris and the resignation of Martin Bernstein.

“As a senior leader with over 25 years of business experience, I offer a wealth of knowledge in government and regulatory affairs, business development and finance, a mix of skills that I believe will bring value to Fondul Proprietatea”, says Lăcrămioara Isărescu in the letter to shareholders that she sent in the application file.

Lăcrămioara Isărescu is currently a non-executive director at Orange Romania and holds a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard.

The other candidates for a seat on the FP board are: Andrew Noble, former British Ambassador, George Duhan, presidential advisor with ministerial rank, Nicolas Paris, investor, Marian Cristian Mocanu, lawyer, and Istvan Sarkany, investor.
