Money sent to Romania by Diaspora, the same amount with the EU funds received by the Gov’t

Romanians working abroad have sent EUR 2.695 billion to the country in the first eight months of 2018, the same amount with all the European funds and subsidies received in the first seven months by the Government.

The EUR 2.695 billion were sent by Romanians working with contracts under one year, and for longer than a year, according to the figures delivered by the National Bank of Romania (BNR).

Of the money received from the EU in 7 months (EUR 2.692 billion), over EUR 1.7 billion are sums for agricultural subsidies, and only EUR 898 million is money attracted from structural funds, cohesion funds and for rural development, according to the data from the Ministry of European Funds, ziare.com reports.
