Only 1 in 10 Romanians would be financially prepared in the event of a disaster affecting his home

Only 11% of Romanians could financially cope with the costs of repairing or replacing goods affected by a potential disaster that would affect their home, according to the latest sociological study carried out by IRES for UNSAR.

At the same time, 80% of respondents declared that they know what they should do in case of an earthquake to protect themselves and stay safe, the same study shows. A similar percentage also believes that their home is resistant and very resistant in the event of an earthquake. At the same time, only 30% of Romanians own a first-aid kit that they could use if an earthquake were to occur.

In order to be protected in the event of an earthquake and other catastrophic natural risks, such as floods and landslides, it is necessary for home owners to take out the mandatory PAD policy, which can provide financial support up to the limit of EUR 10,000 and EUR 20,000 respectively EUR, depending on the type of construction.
