Raiffeisen Bank International posted a profit up by 6 pc in Romania after nine months

The profit of Raiffeisen Bank International AG (RBI) increased by 6.2 percent in the first nine months of 2015, from EUR 81 million in the same period of last year, to EUR 86 million, according to the financial results reported on Thursday.

This is due to the decrease of newly formed provisions to cover possible losses from bad loans.

The operating income of Austrian bank on the Romanian market decreased slightly by 3.6 percent to EUR 336 million at end-September, from EUR 348 million in the quoted period of last year.

According to the same data, Raiffeisen Bank controls in Romania assets of EUR 6.958 billion at end-September, compared to EUR 6.51 billion at the end of the same month in 2014, up by almost 7 percent.

The level of non-performing loans reached to 9.2 percent of the total balance of loans as of September 30 compared to 10.7 percent at the end of 2014.

Both the number of employees and customers increased by 2 percent to 5,477 and by 3.4 percent to 2,118,255, respectively.
