Revolut looking for fresh talent in Romania

Revolut, the global financial app with more than 3 million retail customers in Romania, joins DevTalks 2023 in Cluj-Napoca and organises its first RevDev meeting in Bucharest, to engage with the local tech community and look for fresh talent. During the two events, the digital bank expects to meet with the local tech community and to tell them more about Revolut & company’s technologies. For the job fair in Cluj-Napoca, over 60 positions will be opened to the local developers as well as to experts in different domains (finance, credit, operations, support & fincrime, marketing & comms, recruitment).

The participants of the event will have the opportunity to discuss with the Revolut recruitment and technical team present on the spot on September 27th, in Cluj-Napoca, and on 28th in Bucharest. Asides from networking with the participants at the event, Revolut will also contribute with a presentation, held by Kheng Boon Pek – Lead Software Engineer (Backend). A second Revolut expert will join the attendees of the RevDev meetup in Bucharest, Piotr Malinowski – Senior Software Engineer (Backend), who will spotlight the specificities of this profession within the company.

Shaping relationship with the local tech and banking community while building a talent pool 

Revolut participates in professional events dedicated to technical professionals in several countries, mainly to engage with local tech communities and enthusiasts in key cities around Europe where Revolut has offices. The roles proposed to the Romanian professionals are mainly remote-based, and the employees have the opportunity of working for global projects, in multinational teams, developing the future Revolut products and features, used by over 30 million customers worldwide.

RevDev meetups have already been organised in Poland (Krakow), Spain (Barcelona and Madrid) and Portugal (Porto) and in the last 2 years gathered over 500 participants. As fintech, banks, and tech companies have been cutting their workforce in recent months, Revolut has been recruiting hundreds of the best and brightest employees in different industries. The company more than doubled its workforce in 2022 to more than 6,000 and intends to fill a further 1,000 roles in 2023 and reach over 7,000 total employees by the end of the year.

Recently, the company also opened globally positions for a new banking product that will be developed in the future – mortgage credit. The roles include Mortgage Product Managers, Mortgage Credit Managers, Business Compliance Managers, Software Engineers, Technical Product Managers, and some of them are accessible to the Romanian candidates too. The new roles continue Revolut’s mission to create a community of forward-thinking people that are personally and professionally invested in building the global super app’s mortgage offering.

According to a survey conducted by Revolut and Dynata, 25% of the Romanian respondents think that working from home is a deal breaker for them and 41% declare that this model is important for them, but they show flexibility. Only 13% of the Romanian respondents said they would not like to work from home. When it comes to work-life balance, Romanian respondents ranked by importance the main 3 elements: money (39%), flexible working hours (18%) and regular time off (16%).
